Visit Permit

VISIT PERMIT

GENERAL

  • Visit permit is granted to:
    1. Foreigners entering Indonesia territory with visitor visa;
    2. Newborn child in Indonesia territory whose parent holds visit permit. The visit permit is granted correspondingly to the parent’s visit permit;
    3. Foreigners from countries that are eligible for visa exemption in accordance with the provisions of laws and regulations;
    4. Foreigners as transportation crews who are in Indonesia territory in accordance with the provisions of laws and regulations;
    5. Foreigners entering Indonesia territory in state of emergency;
    6. Foreigners with Visa on Arrival
  • Visit permit is automatically not valid if:
    1. the holder returns to the home country;
    2. the permit is expired;
    3. the permit is converted to limited stay permit;
    4. the permit is cancelled  by the Minister or the appointed Immigration Officer;
    5. the holder is subjected to deportation; or
    6. the holder passes away.

REQUIREMENTS

  1. New application:
    1. Visit permit application for foreigners with visitor visa:
      1. Letter of guarantor; and
      2. Valid passport.
    2. Visit permit application for newborn child in Indonesia territory whose parent holds visit permit:
      1. Valid passport of the child from the representative country in Indonesia;
      2. Birth declaration/birth recognition letter from hospital or Birth certificate issued by the authorized officer or institution;
      3. Copy of parent’s valid passport;
      4. Copy of parent’s visit permit.
  2. Extension application
    1. General requirements:
      1. Application form
      2. Letter of request and guarantor.
      3. Original and copy of valid passport including valid visit permit.
      4. For second until fifth extension must attach proof of foreigner registration from the Head of Immigration Office or the appointed Immigration Officer.
      5. Not included in Alert List.
      6. Pay the Immigration Duty in accordance with the provisions.
    2. Special requirements, attach: Return ticket or ticket to continue travelling to another country.
  3. Visit permit for foreigners with visit visa is granted by immigration officer in immigration checkpoint;
  4. Visit permit application for newborn child in Indonesia territory whose parent holds visit permit is submitted to the Head of Immigration Office or the immigration officer whose working area covers the residence of the foreigner;
  5. Visit permit extension is granted by the Head of immigration office whose working area covers the residence of the foreigner;
  6. Visit permit extension is granted at most 5 (five) times consecutively, each extension granted not more than 30 days;
  7. The first and second visit permit extension is carried out by the Head of Immigration Office;
  8. The third and fourth visit permit extension is carried out by the Head of Immigration Office after receiving approval from Head of Regional Office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights;
  9. The fifth visit permit extension is carried out by the Head of Immigration Office after receiving approval from the Director General of Immigration;

PROCEDURE

  1. The issuance of visit permit that is under the authority of the Head of Immigration Office:
    1. Front desk officer check and scan the required documents. If the required documents are complete, the officer print or issue the application receipt to be given to the applicants.
    2. If the application meets the requirements, it is forwarded to the Head of Immigration Office or appointed Immigration Officer for approval.
    3. If the Head of Immigration Office find any doubtful indication, the Head of Immigration Office instruct the Head of Division/Section Chief/Sub-section Chief in charge of related matter to conduct a review and report the result.
    4. In case the application is approved, the file is forwarded to the treasurer for payment purpose.
    5. After payment process, the next steps are:
      1. Taking biometric data and fingerprints of the applicant;
      2. Registration and printing;
      3. Signing/authorization by the Head of Immigration Office or the appointed Immigration Officer.
    6. In case the requirements are fulfilled and the payment has been made according to the regulations, the Head of Immigration Office or the appointed Immigration Officer issue the visit permit within 4 (four) days;
    7. The completed visit permit is submitted to the counter to be given to the applicant.
  2. The issuance of visit permit that is under the authority of the Head of the Immigration Division/Director General of Immigration:
    1. Front desk officer register the application and print or issue the application receipt to be given to the applicants who meet the formal requirements and also check the alert list, applicant file records and database.
    2. If the application meets the requirements, it is forwarded to the Head of Immigration Office or the appointed Immigration Officer to make the recommendation letter addressed to the Head of the Immigration Division cc. Director General of Immigration.
    3. If the Head of Immigration Office finds any indication that needs further review, the Head of Immigration Office instruct the Head of Division/Section Chief/Sub-section Chief in charge of related matter to conduct a review and report the result.
    4. The application is forwarded to the Head of the Immigration Division cc. Director General of Immigration to obtain the Decree and Letter of Instruction.
    5. If the letter of instruction from the Head of Immigration Division has been received, the Head of Immigration Office approve the issuance of visit permit and the file is forwarded to the treasurer for payment purpose according to regulations and laws.
    6. After payment has been made, the next processes are:
      1. Taking biometric data and fingerprints of the applicant;
      2. Registration, printing and putting the photo;
      3. Signing/authorization by the Head of Immigration Office or the appointed Immigration Officer.
    7. In case the requirements are fulfilled and the payment has been made according to the regulations, the Head of Immigration Office or the appointed Immigration Officer issue the visit permit within 4 (four) days;
    8. The completed visit permit is submitted to the counter to be given to the applicant.

VALIDITY PERIOD

  1. Visit permit for Single and Multiple Entry Visitor Visa holders are granted for a maximum 60 (sixty) days from the date of entry stamp;
  2. Visit permit for Single Entry Visitor Visa holders as in point 1 is extendable at most 4 (four) times and the duration for each extension is not more than 30 days;
  3. Visit permit for Multiple Entry Visitor Visa holders is not-extendable;
  4. Visit permit for Visa on Arrival holders is granted for a maximum 30 (thirty) days from the date of entry stamp;
  5. Visit permit for Visa on Arrival holders as in point 4. is extendable only once for a maximum 30 (thirty) days;
  6. Visit permit for foreigners whose countries are eligible for visa exemption, is granted for a maximum 30 (thirty) days from the date of entry stamp;
  7. Visit permit for foreigners whose countries are eligible for visa exemption as in point 6, is not-extendable, unless in emergencies;
  8. Visit permit for foreigners as transportation crews who are in Indonesia territory, is granted for a maximum 60 (sixty) days from the date of entry stamp and not-extendable;
  9. Visit permit for the newborn child in Indonesia territory whose parent holds visit permit, is granted for the period correspond to the parent’s visit permit;
  10. Visit permit for foreigners entering Indonesia territory in state of emergency, is granted for a maximum 30 (thirty) days from the date of entry stamp.
